Yesterday I went to the ward trunk-or-treat. As I went from car to car, (as Zelda) eventually I came to the Brown's car, where Brother Brown was sitting, dressed up as Nephi, in armor, handing out candy. I drew my sword (after a short struggle with the belt) and pointed it at him. He responded by saying something to the effect of that he needed a weapon. As we continued to talk (after he gave me a piece of candy) he said that the only thing with being a Gladiator was that his costume was too big. Thoughts of shock and bewilderment ran through my head. He wasn't Nephi? Shortly thereafter, I left to finish my round of treat-ing. I finished quickly, and then I saw him again. I told him that I had thought he was Nephi and his response was "Nephi! That's even better!", as he turned his back I heard him repeat, "I'm Nephi!"
As a Gladiator, Brother Brown had been a good, cool person. But when he saw he could be someone cooler and better, he didn't settle for just cool and good.
You are a good, cool person (whether you are dressed as a Gladiator or not). But don't settle for good and cool when you can be better.

This is what his costume looked like, sort of. He didn't have a sword, or the things on his legs, or the long hair, though. And it was slightly too big
